Chabichou du Poitou is a soft, unpasteurized, aged, goat's milk cheese from France. Its flavor is sweet with a slightly salty and tangy hint. As the cheese ages, it becomes more savory, piquant, and nutty. After aging, Chabichou produces an edible and wrinkled rind.
The interior is firm, buttery, creamy, and bright white. Chabichou was awarded the AOC in 1990. This goat cheese pairs well with champagne and light white wines like Albariño, Chablis, and Pinot Grigio. One unit, 5.3 oz (150 g).
