Shipping & Handling Policy

SHIPPING METHOD

  • Perishable items must be shipped via Express (1 day).
  • Non-perishable items may be shipped via Ground (1-5 business days) or Express (1 day).
  • Combined packages of both perishable and non-perishable items will be shipped via Express (1 day).
  • Orders can be scheduled for delivery up to 6 weeks after the date in which they are placed.

Note: Ground shipping does not guarantee the date of delivery. Therefore, there are no refunds or claims possible for late arrivals. If you require your order to arrive on a specific date, we suggest you choose the Express method and then pick the delivery date you prefer.

SHIPPING AND HANDLING CHARGES

Basic Shipping (<2 lb)

Available for items shipping Monday – Thursday for items with a combined shopping cart weight of under 2 lb:

U.S. Contiguous States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii and all other U.S. territories)

  • Ground Delivery Shipping
    • Used for non-perishable items only
    • Orders over $75: shipping rate of $15
    • Orders under $75: shipping rate of $20
    • Delivery in 2-7 business days
  • Express Shipping
    • Required for perishable and combined items but can be used for non-perishable items if an exact delivery date is required
    • Orders over $75: shipping rate of $34
    • Orders under $75: shipping rate of $34
    • Delivery in 1 business day

Alaska and Hawaii

  • Express Shipping ONLY
    • Shipping rate of $48
    • Used for all items (perishable, non-perishable, combined)

International Delivery (Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands and other countries)

Multi-Warehouse Shipping

Some products may be shipped from different warehouses. In this case, shipping rates will be calculated separately for every warehouse according to standard rates. Full information about shipping costs will be available on the checkout page during the order process.

Saturday Delivery

  • Available with Express shipping only.
  • Please check the Saturday Delivery box in your cart.
  • Orders must be placed by 2:00 PM EST on Friday
  • Please note that not all geographical locations are available for Saturday delivery. Saturday delivery is not available for Hawaii

Heavy Products and Orders (>2 lb)

Heavy orders are defined as shopping carts with a combined item weight of 2 lb or more.

Oftentimes, these products require additional ice and wrapping in order to ensure their fresh and safe delivery to you. This additional product weight, as well as the weight of packing materials, increases the cost of shipping.

Please note the below descriptions of the additional weight and charges required for such items. 

Non-Perishable Items

  • For each heavy non-perishable (dry) item or heavy order (2 lb+) with dry storage type, you will be charged on an additional, per pound charge on each pound in excess of the first 2 lb.

Refrigerated Items

  • Refrigerated items must be delivered with a significant amount of ice in the package. 
  • For each heavy refrigerated item or heavy order (2 lb+) with refrigerated storage type there is an ice to product weight ratio of 1 : 0.75.
  • In other words, for every 1 pound of a refrigerated product’s weight, 0.75 pounds of ice will need to be included in the shipment. 

Frozen Items

  • Frozen items must be delivered with a significant amount of ice in the package.
  • For each frozen item or heavy order (2 lb+) with frozen storage type there is an ice to product weight ratio of 1 : 1. 
    • In other words, for every 1 pound of a frozen product’s weight, 1 pound of ice will need to be included in the shipment.

HEAVY PRODUCTS AND ORDERS SHIPPING CALCULATION

Please note that each item’s weight is noted on its product detail page. For each heavy order the following extra per-lb charge is applied:

U.S. CONTIGUOUS STATES (EXCLUDING ALASKA, HAWAII AND ALL OTHER U.S. TERRITORIES)

  • With Ground Shipping (non-perishable items only): an extra $1.50 per lb
    • Ex. For a non-perishable item cart weight of 3 lb under $75:
      • Total Cart Weight: 3 lb
      • Shipping Cost: $20 Ground Delivery Charge + $1.50/lb x 1 lb Additional Weight Cost = $21.50 Total Delivery Charge
  • With Express Shipping: an extra $3.95 per lb
    • Ex. For a refrigerated item cart weight of 3 lb over $75:
      • Total Cart Weight: 5.25 lb (3 lb initial cart weight + 2.25 lb ice weight (1 : 0.75 ratio), i.e. 3.25 lb above the first 2 lb. 
      • Shipping Cost: $34 Express Shipping Charge + $3.95/lb x 3.25 lb Additional Weight Cost = $47 Total Delivery Charge.

Alaska and Hawaii

  • Express Shipping ONLY: an extra $4.95 per lb

    • Ex. For a frozen item cart weight of 3 lb.
      • Total Cart Weight: 6 lb (3 lb initial cart weight + 3 lb ice weight (1 : 1 ratio), i.e. 4 lb over the first 2 lb.
      • Shipping Cost: $48, Express Shipping Charge + $4.95/lb x 4 lb Additional Weight Cost = $67.80 Delivery Charge.

Shipping Limitations

Due to shipping limitations, we are unable to ship packages for delivery on the following holidays or the day after: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Foie Gras Shipping Limitations

Due to California's law, foie gras can only be purchased for personal use and cannot be resold.

Order Processing

Monday through Thursday

Orders placed before 2:00 PM EST will arrive the next day, when Express shipping is chosen.

Orders placed after 2:00 PM EST will be shipped the next day and delivered in one (1) day, when Express shipping is chosen.

Unless Saturday Shipping is chosen, orders placed after 2:00 PM EST on Thursday will be shipped on Monday and arrive the following Tuesday.

Cancellations

Orders may be canceled up until 10 AM the day prior to the intended delivery date (holiday exclusions apply). For example, if you are expecting your order on Friday, you may cancel your order without any charges if you do so by 10 AM that Thursday (the day prior)

Returns and Exchanges

All merchandise is guaranteed to be fresh and should be inspected immediately upon arrival. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase and have identified a quality related issue, please return it within 24 hours for an exchange or a refund of the purchase price of the products only (less shipping and handling). Please keep all packaging intact for any returns. If an exchange is requested, the replacement product will be shipped as soon as we have processed and confirmed your claim.

If you choose to return, for credit, an unopened, unused item, a 20% restocking fee may be applied to the value of the product and deducted from your return.

Important!

Please inspect delivered packages and products as soon as they arrive at your door!

If your package has arrived damaged or tampered with, please contact the carrier (FedEx or other) and our Customer Service Department. Any delay in contacting the carrier and our Customer Service Department makes it more difficult to file a claim. Please keep ALL packaging and items EXACTLY AS THEY ARRIVED.
