Since 1992, it has been one of the four kinds of cheeses that has received DOP recognition. The name Tetilla is Galician for “small breast”, which describes the shape of the cheese, modeled in homage to the cows of the region. This yellow cheese has a pale yellow, thin, natural rind and soft and smooth texture. Tetilla has a creamy taste and buttery, slightly bitter and tangy flavor. Cut cheese, up to 2 lbs.
